Visual Arts at Elstree UTC offers students the chance to study the ever-advancing creative skills and practices of the 21st century entertainment industries. We also celebrate the rich history of the visual arts in order to teach students the practice of reflection and analysis. Students learn to develop ideas, plus use tools and techniques to create the films, games and imagery we appreciate in our day-to-day lives.


Subject Breakdown

Photography is defined here as the practice of producing images using light sensitive materials such as photographic film, or digital methods of development and production to create static or moving images.

Students here have access to industry standard software (Adobe Creative Cloud and Maya), In addition we also provide a wide range of physical media in order to help our student further express themselves as Photographers.

Assessment

Unit 1: Portfolio of Work (96 marks- 60%) 
Controlled Assessment- set and marked by the centre and moderated by AQA. 
Unit 2: Externally Set Task (96 marks- 40%)
