Elstree University Technical College sees outstanding results in
professional and technical qualifications.

Staff and students at Elstree UTC are celebrating another successful year for Level 3 results both in our technical specialist subjects and at A Level.

As a University Technical College with a specialism in multimedia, Performance and the technical production Arts, we are delighted to report that our professional and specialist qualification results were once again superb and even better than last year.  51% of students taking technical and applied qualifications achieved a Distinction star (equivalent to A* at A Level), 66% achieved Distinction and above (equivalent to A* - A at A Level), and 100% of students achieved a Distinction star to pass.

Special congratulations should be mentioned for the following subjects:

  • Technical Theatre Production - 93% Distinction and Distinction*

  • Specialist Media and Production Makeup - 89% Distinction and Distinction*

  • Performing Arts - 71% Distinction and Distinction*

  • App Programming - 60% Distinction and Distinction*

  • Costume -  50% Distinction and Distinction*

This year, Elstree UTC has continued to develop opportunities with our employer partners and along with the impressive achievements of young people studying specialist and professional qualifications, we are delighted by some of the destinations for further work and study our students are moving on to including apprenticeships and internships with Life Cast, White Light, Smoke and Mirrors and further specialist study at RADA, LIPA, Central School of Speech and Drama, Urdang, Italia Conti School of Performing Arts, Centre PAC, Falmouth University and our Higher Education sponsor - the University of Hertfordshire.  

In our academic subjects, a strong performance by students in Year 13 saw the standard of A Level passes rise.  Grades at A*-B rose to 25% and the number of A*-C grades to an impressive 60%. Overall there was an increase in the percentage of A2 Level pass grades, rising to an impressive 97%.

Academic subjects which have seen particularly impressive results this year at A Level include Art, Creative Writing, Film Studies, Media Studies and Graphics.  

These fabulous results reflect the dedication of staff and students at Elstree UTC alongside the ongoing support of our committed parents, sponsors and partners.

We look forward to welcoming and preparing the next intake of students into our expanding Sixth Form. We are confident they will have equally high aspirations, and will go on to achieve excellent results and access empowering opportunities.

At Elstree UTC we are extremely proud of our unique curriculum, offering specialist and professional courses with industry relevant experience, which helps students to gain a footing in these creative industries for the future.
