On this day
Two unfathomably noisy smashers, Nirvana's 'Nevermind' and Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica', came out on this day, presumably sparking a sudden surge in young people requiring hearing aids after repeated listens at buffalo-exploding volumes. Then of course there was Red Hot Chili Peppers' 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik', also hitting record store shelves that day, not to mention hip-hop crew A Tribe Called Quest’s cult classic 'The Low End Theory' and (in the US) the debut album by a little-known act called Blur ('Leisure'). An era-defining day.

"Proofs of the Euclidean [parallel] postulate can be developed to such an extent that apparently a mere trifle remains. But a careful analysis shows that in this seeming trifle lies the crux of the matter; usually it contains either the proposition that is being proved or a postulate equivalent to it."
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."
