‘Canvas’ employs generous spacing between content, clear typography, and symbolic colour ways to ensure that the viewer can interpret text and artwork with minimal effort and viewing time. A simple hierarchy of ‘most-important information is first and largest’ allows the viewer to absorb the most important information at a glance.
New design assets such as our logo and poster templates allow student-created and -curated content to reach through our branding. Colours can be amended to the content depending on it’s importance and theme. ‘Soleil’ allows content to sit within a clear, clean and cohesive typeset that connotes accessibility and professionalism without distorting focus on the material itself.
Continuous reinforcement of the same layout principles such as accessible spacing, brand logo placement, boiler-plate content, colours, fonts and hierarchy all help to support the new branding of Elstree University Technical College and establish a considerably more open, contemporary and familiar academic institution.
