Following the day after (Wednesday 28th June) is the Year 11 Prom at the world famous Elstree Studios. Meller Educational Trust Awards 2017

Students selected for the MET Awards 2017 will be heading to the Merchant Taylors' Hall next Tuesday to collect the prestigious award. Please check your invitation for further details of the arrival time. In addition, we will be taking 7 of our Short Film Project and Year 12 students to document the event. They will be working in the following areas: Camera, Sound and Production Development.

MOBOs are back

Following a year-long creative hiatus, the MOBO Organisation has greenlit a new season of MOBO Live: Unsung and recommissioned frequent collaborator EUTC Productions and it's students to create the content. We will be training on Monday, shooting student-oriented content on Wednesday and then shooting the actual MOBO productions on Thursday and Friday. Crews are being selected at the time of writing.

We must ask that all students on campus throughout next week maintain the high-level of professionalism and treat talent and guests with respect. Keep an eye on our YouTube channel (and MOBOs' YouTube Channel) over the next few weeks!

'Official Exams Calendar' complete next Monday

Well done to all of our Year 11 and 13 students for completing their exams this season - everything with the exception of two exams on Monday and the mock exams for Year 10 and 12.

We are so proud of their professionalism throughout the exams - patient, cool, calm and collected. Thank you to parents for supporting your children with their revision and exam prep.

Production Makeup: Vogue Assessment

We wanted to give a shout out to the Production Arts team and the Production Makeup course for completing the 2017 Vogue Assessment. Kudos to the students - sensational costume design, hair and makeup. Keep an eye out for the final edits (stills and video) on our YouTube channel before the end of Summer Term 02. Eras explored include 20's through to the 80's.

BBC Studioworks: Work Placement 2017

This week students in Year 12 who have shown exceptional professionalism throughout the academic year interviewed for a place on the BBC Studioworks placement scheme run through a collaboration between BBC Elstree and EUTC.

7 placements have been awarded to our students. They will have experience working on BBC programming in the following departments: Camera, Lighting, Sound and Design.

Projects & Partnerships: CCFE Fusion Energy - Location shoot for GAMBICA commissioned 'Future Engineers' project

Our Projects and Partnerships team took a crew of Year 10 students to the CCFE Fusion Energy facility to begin principal photography on the GAMBICA commissioned project 'Future Engineers'. The final film will explore opportunities in the STEM industries and the careers available to young people today and tomorrow. The film is being developed by students currently enrolled in the 'Short Film Project'. Whilst there, the crew interviewed several young engineers and scientists, enjoyed a demonstration of some VR technologies and even took a look at Fusion Energy Generator.
