Spotlight on EUTC [Autumn 2016 - Issue 08]
The week past has been another busy one. With Christmas fast approaching, our students are starting to prepare for our winter holiday celebrations, rigging Project Space 1 for the upcoming student show and getting coursework sorted before they take a well-deserved break.

Post 16 Young Drivers Awareness Talk
The Borehamwood Fire Dept. will be dropping by on Tuesday 13th December at 11.10am to talk to Post 16 students in Room 24 to talk about driving awareness and safety. This session is open to all Sixth Form students.
EUTC Open Day Morning
We have an upcoming open day morning on the 14th December with limited spaces still available. If you know of anyone who would be interested in coming to EUTC please ask them to book a place by calling 020 8386 6220 today.
University of Hertfordshire: Post 16 School of Creative Arts Taster Day
Last Wednesday we took all of Year 12 students to EUTC academic partner 'University of Hertfordshire's Post 16 taster day. Students had the opportunity to tour the campus, try out kit and facilities and engage with UH lecturers in taster sessions and lectures. The day was highly successful with the majority of students stating that it changed their idea of what going to university could mean and that if they weren't before, they would be considering university now.
Year 12 BTEC Fashion Trip
A letter has been sent home today regarding the upcoming trip to the Barbian Gallery and V&A Museum. Please check your inboxes and return the attached reply slip.
MegaJump PE Trips
We have recently partnered with MegaJump to bring a little more excitement to PE sessions at EUTC. Students are taking it pretty well...
Short Film Project: Reminder
There is still time to join the EUTC Short Film Project! It's an exciting opportunity to get to know the equipment we have at EUTC while stretching your narrative filmmaking skills. Students are currently in Pre-Production and Training. Speak to Mrs Deacon in Room 57 for further information.
CHRISTMAS JUMPER APPEAL: SAVE THE CHILDREN (21.12.16)
Staff and students will donate £1 and wear Christmas jumpers in aid of the STC charity. By joining in on Christmas Jumper Day, you are helping to save children’s lives. It sounds silly, but just by dressing up in festive knits for the day and donating, you really will help us solve some very serious problems – and change the lives of children. Your support means we can bring vital things like food, medicine and shelter to children who urgently need them.

GCSE Mock Exams: Art and Design
The mock took place on Monday from 9am to 3.30pm to practice the process of the real 10 hour exam in May next year. The artists were responding to the theme of Moods, inspired by artist research and personal research.
Graphics & Computing Clubs are still running with Mr LeBlanc & Mr Zerafa every Monday 4-5p, Tuesday lunchtime and Thursday 4-5pm. Students are welcome to attend for intervention, to extend their skills and to work on projects such as Apps for Good.
Film Club is still running on Monday’s. Film Club is designed to introduce and encourage all students enthusiasm for film. Showing a range of Hollywood Classics as well as the best in British and World and Indie Cinema. Students have access to behind the scenes extras, film fact files and other resources to further develop their love of film. Join in every other Monday 4-6pm in Room 24 The Puttnam Suite (School Cinema). Film Club is open to all years and the next film will be a student choice within the genre of Horror. All films are limited to a 15cert age rating so everyone can come along and enjoy a great range of movies together. To join in the vote for the next movie put code: 9hxwl8 into Google Classroom and look out for the voting form appearing over the weekend.
